JASC Statement on Deaths in James Sneider Apartments

Jane Addams Senior Caucus holds the seniors who passed away in the James Sneider Apartments in our hearts: Delores McNeely, Gwendolyn Osborne, and Janice Reed. All seniors deserve to live and age with dignity in their homes. Jane Addams Senior Caucus is outraged that the lives of senior tenants are not valued. No senior should have to worry about extreme temperatures outside or inside their apartments. City regulations and building management should work together to keep seniors safe, not put them in jeopardy. Our organization is committed to addressing heating and cooling language through city ordinance, to ensure that our standards for safety match up with common sense and the demands of climate change.
