Introducing the new JASC and JASIA Interim Executive Director Lilly Lerner
Jane Addams Senior Caucus (JASC) and Jane Addams Seniors in Action (JASIA) are pleased to announce the appointment of Lilly Lerner as Interim Executive Director, effective June 1, 2022. We thank Saskia Harak, who has decided to leave us for personal reasons, for her leadership and dedication to our work. During our 45th year, Saskia has advanced our campaigns in countless ways and given outstanding support to our membership, our staff and both Boards.
We are delighted that Lilly Lerner has agreed to return to our organizations as the Interim Leader. As many know, Lilly worked as a Housing Organizer for nearly four years, and she was our Senior Housing Organizer until 2021 when she left us to pursue other interests. She is well known and respected in the community of organizations fighting for racial, economic and social justice, especially for seniors. It is a great tribute to her love and respect for us that she contacted us to offer support and any assistance needed to make sure of a smooth adjustment to new leadership. And it also says a great deal about JASC and JASIA that she is now willing to step into an interim role at a very difficult time.
We are confident that Lilly will lead us forward in this our 46th year and help to make us stronger than ever as we continue to advocate for our mission of ensuring that βall seniors can age with dignity and safety, free of ageism, racism and other forms of oppression.β
